JACOB KENEDY

Jacob Kenedy was born in London in 1980 and still lives there today. He comes from a food-loving and artistic family (his mother is the renowned artist, Haidee Becker, his father a cellist, David Kenedy). When he graduated from St John’s College, Cambridge (Natural Sciences) he was already a chef at Moro, and continued to flit between the kitchens there and those at Boulevard in San Francisco for a period of ten years.

Jacob believes that to love eating is to love life, and that to love cooking is to love giving pleasure to other people. He opened Bocca di Lupo in 2008 to critical claim (‘Jacob Kenedy is almost a prodigy’ – Fay Maschler; ‘is this the highest score I’ve ever given?’ – Giles Coren), twice awarded London’s best restaurant. You can find him at the stove there most days of the week. He opened Gelupo, a gelateria and delicatessen in the same street in 2010, which made a lot of people very happy, and in the same year co-authored The Geometry of Pasta (a graphic cookbook - he wrote the words, Caz Hildebrand the design). His first solo cookbook is this one, BOCCA. He hopes you like it.
